Design That Makes A Difference in Readability

To be absolutely honest, the only books I have been reading lately are our textbooks. Terrible, I know, but I actually find most of them visually appealing and easy to read. I think a large part the easy readability comes from my own interest in the content, but the layout of the text helps as well. Think about it - the use of hierarchy and grids definitely make the content easy to read. Oh, and the images, which take up a large portion of the page, doesn't leave much room for massive amounts of text most textbooks are famous for. I love this because it gives my eyes a break and equates to easy reading.

I'd choose reading a graphic design textbook over a psychology textbook any day!
