I too am not very advanced with Adobe products. I usually ask for help in the lab (thanks Emily!). The newest tip I learned was on my last project. In Illustrator, Emily showed me how to do a live trace from a tracing/drawing that I had scanned in. I was able to move everything around and change colors in a simple sketch! If you're not able to go to the lab and have the tech help, YouTube is usually the place to search for tutorials. Trouble is you need to know what you're looking for on some level. But it's good to just watch one here and there even if you're not looking for anything in particular. The video below shows how to do a live trace!
