Re: Spin offs in Print

I also have not seen Fringe and, off the top of my head, I couldn't think of any books that came out of tv shows. With sci-fi as inspiration, I decided to look online to see if there were any spin off books made from the show, Roswell (my big sister was an avid fan during my late high school and early college years, so of course I became one too). I discovered that the show actually took inspiration from a ten part book series called Roswell High, but of course the covers were later redesigned with the tv show characters sprawled across the front. Despite there already being a series before the show, I did find out that after the show more books were made, including these three:

As you can see, the cover art also includes the characters from the show and they are... well... not the most attractive designs (I still can't figure out why the people in the 2nd one are so faded). Also, they all appear to have been written by different authors, which seems like it would create a very disjointed series.

I have to admit though, the sci-fi/Roswell nerd inside of me is still a bit interested in reading these to see how they compare to the show, which was a bit cheesy at times, so even if the books are too, it will only serve to support that nature.
