This video doesn't cover all we need to do for our 2nd book project, but you can see the use of the glue that Abby mentioned in class.
It doesn't have the aesthetic of the hand sewn look, but I can see how it is certainly a more practical approach for mass production. Thank you for posting all the how-to videos for all these amazing types of hand sewn book bindings. They make me want to be way more adventurous and they seem much less scary now.
On the flip side of many of these ways of binding is the issue of printing. From working in the lab, there have been a few times someone has asked me to print to accommodate some of the more elaborate binding techniques and I had no idea how to accomplish it.
