I Am Not Myself These Days is Josh Kilmer-Purcell's book about his time as a famous drag queen in New York City. It describes Purcell's over-the-top costumes, drag performances, wild parties, late night antics and his love affair with a crack-addicted male escort. The book is definitely not lacking in outrageous stories.
The dedication however, contrasts the book's wild content. Purcell dedicates the book to his current partner and does so in a way that is funny and endearing:
For Brent, who wants you to know that he had nothing to do with any events in this story. (But, I assure you, has everything to do with its happy ending.)
